In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, on March 15, 2020, the Chief Justice of the Ontario Superior Court of Justice issued a Notice to the Profession, modifying the courts’ operations in order to ensure enforcement of social distancing guidelines. We have compiled recent decisions from the Ontario courts that highlight the matters – and types of matters – that have been accepted as urgent, most of which have not yet been decided on their merits, but have been scheduled for virtual hearings to take place over the next two to three months.
